The Department of Optical Technologies held an educational workshop on (devices used for the visually impaired) delivered by A.L Marwan Hisham, A.L Nour Khamis, and the teaching assistant Ali Qais, in which they explained low vision, which is an imbalance of vision that cannot be corrected by wearing glasses, undergoing surgery, or receiving treatment. The most common cause of visual impairment is macular degeneration, an age-related disease that affects the main part of the field of vision. Other common causes are glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetes. From our side, we provide care to patients at all stages of their lives, from the initial stage of visual impairment, to the later stages of eye diseases.
Visual impairment affects each person differently and requires individual counseling to determine helpful strategies.
