Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the direct supervision of the President of the Al-Mustaqbal University, and within the activities of Al-Mustaqbal Week for Sustainable Development, the Medical Optics Technology Tent was opened at Al-Mustaqbal University for vision screening, on the occasion of Sustainable Development Week, which is held from 17 to 22 February. The tent provided comprehensive medical examinations for university visitors and external guests, including eye and retinal examinations, and eye pressure examinations. Appointments have been set for free treatments in the university’s optometry laboratories, and awareness-raising guidance on eye care has been provided, with all treatment including medical drops being dispensed free of charge, through joint medical cooperation between the department and companies specialized in the field of ophthalmology, and among these companies (Jamjoom Company, Rom Pharma Company, as well as the Iraqi Pioneer Company, where the examination relied on qualified doctors specialized in the field of ophthalmology as well as retinal diseases. The tent also included examinations of vital signs such as measuring blood pressure, blood sugar, and oxygen levels, as well as examination of the ears, nose, and nares by doctors. Specialists in this field, providing health guidance to achieve the third goal of the health and well-being of the individual within the framework of sustainable development.
