In line with Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, and within the framework of strengthening collaboration with national and international institutions as well as supporting inventors and innovators, the Department of Optical Technologies participated on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in an important meeting with H.E. Prof. Dr. Nouri Sabah Al-Dulaimi, former Minister of Planning, and H.E. Prof. Dr. Diaa Al-Jumaili, Advisor to the Prime Minister.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 4th ITEX International Exhibition and Conference for Communications and Information Technology, following a morning session at the Baghdad International Fair with the participation of distinguished members of the Iraqi Association of Inventors and Innovators.
The discussions addressed several key themes, including:
-Engaging and training young inventors and innovators to prepare a new generation of leaders in artificial intelligence technologies and digital transformation.
-Strengthening cooperation with the Innovation Association in the United Kingdom – London, to learn about advanced mechanisms for patent marketing and effective investment strategies.
-Establishing a national database of inventors and innovators, including patents, areas of specialization, and innovation titles.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Diaa Al-Jumaili, Advisor to the Prime Minister, announced his approval for the department to be part of the advisory team once the above steps are activated, emphasizing the importance of supporting scientific and innovative efforts in service of Iraq’s future.
