On August 14, 2025, the Directorate of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the official approval of the academic calendar for the 2025–2026 academic year. This announcement follows the endorsement of the proposed recommendations by the Minister of Higher Education regarding the start of the academic year for both public and private universities and colleges, for students in both upper academic stages and first-year medical programs.
According to official letter No. 3 /9303 dated August 12, 2025, the official start of classes will be on Monday, September 21, 2025, as outlined in the attached calendar. The schedule takes into account the specific requirements of medical colleges, official holidays, and the distribution of the two academic semesters.
The Directorate, under the signature of Asst. Prof. Dr. Hazem Abdul-Razzaq Abdul-Amir, Acting Director General of the Directorate of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up, emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to providing a stable and well-structured educational environment for both students and faculty. The Directorate also stressed the importance of adhering to this approved calendar and urged all universities to circulate it among relevant departments and faculties to ensure the smooth and well-organized start of the new academic year.
