As part of the practical implementation of the academic curriculum under the study plan of the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems / College of Science / Al-Mustaqbal University, the students of the department continued their attendance in the Computer Networks Laboratory, held in Laboratory 402, Medical Building, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mahdi Abadi Mani and Ms. Aya Jamal.
This laboratory aims to equip students with a solid understanding of the technical aspects of computer networks through hands-on training in network design, configuration setup, and the use of specialized simulation software. Students also learn how to build Local Area Networks (LANs), connect computing devices, and manage communication and data transmission efficiently.
During the practical sessions, the teaching staff provided detailed explanations of data transmission and reception concepts, switching and routing techniques (Switches & Routers), as well as methods for error analysis and ensuring network stability. The supervisors emphasized the importance of these concepts in supporting intelligent medical applications that require reliable and fast networks for the exchange of sensitive medical information.
Prof. Mahdi Abadi Mani highlighted the importance of integrating theoretical and practical aspects of the subject, explaining that laboratory training is an essential step in preparing students for the modern technological and medical job market. Meanwhile, Ms. Aya Jamal pointed out that these sessions contribute to enhancing students’ technical skills and their ability to apply networking technologies in intelligent medical systems and the Internet of Things (IoT) fields.
This laboratory is part of a series of practical courses implemented by the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems to create a modern educational environment based on the integration of medical, engineering, and technological sciences, in line with Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision to graduate qualified professionals capable of innovation in the field of medical technology.
