A Distinguished Initiative by Lecturer Israa Ghanem Hadi on the Importance of Early Disease Diagnosis
As part of the scientific and awareness activities at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Lecturer Israa Ghanem Hadi from the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques launched a distinguished initiative by distributing educational brochures highlighting the importance of early disease diagnosis in medical laboratories. The initiative aimed to raise health awareness among students and visitors and to promote a culture of prevention and early detection.
The brochures included simplified scientific information about basic laboratory tests that contribute to the early detection of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, liver diseases, and kidney disorders. They also explained the vital role of periodic medical testing in reducing complications and improving quality of life.
Lecturer Israa Ghanem Hadi emphasized that this initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being—by promoting the concept of preventive healthcare and encouraging the academic community to adopt regular medical testing as a proactive health measure.
She also noted that the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques continuously strives to integrate educational awareness with academic instruction through initiatives that aim to enhance students’ scientific and health consciousness, while motivating them to share knowledge and health awareness within the broader community.
At the conclusion of the activity, the initiative received positive interaction and appreciation from both students and faculty members, who commended the efforts made to spread health awareness. They also emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives that contribute to building an informed and responsible university community dedicated to personal and public health.
