Al-Mustaqbal University celebrated the Iraqi National Day this morning in an atmosphere filled with pride and a deep sense of national belonging. The event was attended by a number of vice presidents, deans, professors, staff members, students, and the staff of the Aesthetic and Laser Techniques Department.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of Iraq’s martyrs, followed by the playing of the national anthem. The speech of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, was delivered on his behalf by Prof. Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision.
In his address, Dr. Al-Zuhairi emphasized that the third of October marks a significant and historic day in Iraq’s modern history — the day Iraq declared its independence and joined the League of Nations in 1932, becoming the first Arab country to gain full international recognition of its sovereignty.
He noted that celebrating this occasion is not merely a remembrance of the past, but also a renewal of loyalty and commitment to the homeland — a reaffirmation of the values of sacrifice, development, and national responsibility. He added that Al-Mustaqbal University, through its academic mission, is committed to preparing a conscious generation that believes “Science without a homeland has no soul, and a homeland without science has no future.”
The program also included a documentary film highlighting key moments in Iraq’s history and its journey toward progress and development. Participants expressed their pride in this national occasion, reaffirming the University’s dedication to promoting citizenship, belonging, and sustainable growth in service of Iraq.
