By the directive of the honorable Minister of Higher Education / Minister's Office / Women's Affairs Department, and under the patronage of the respected President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and with guidance from the esteemed Dr. Amar Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law, the Women's Affairs Department, under the supervision of Dr. Sahira Qahtan Abduljabbar, in collaboration with the College of Law, held a scientific seminar on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, on the first floor of the Humanitarian Building. The seminar titled "The Importance of Women's Life After Divorce" was presented by Ms. Mona Mohammed.
In alignment with the fifth goal of Sustainable Development Goals, women have full rights that enable them to live a dignified life after divorce, whether away from marriage or from the husband they were previously married to. Therefore, Islam and the law grant certain rights to the wife after divorce, allowing her to start a new life and acquire rights that positively impact the well-being and progress of society. As active contributors to sustainable development, their presence in all fields must be strengthened to ensure their involvement in decision-making processes aimed at achieving gender equality.
