The Blue Dome, or the Dome of Bogdai Khatun, is an ancient archaeological building located in the northern part of Kirkuk Citadel. It houses the remains of the tomb of Lady Bogdai Khatun, whose death date is marked on her tombstone as 762 AH/1361 AD. The building dates back to the reign of the Jalayirid Mongol dynasty, which ruled Iraq between 1337 and 1411 AD. It is one of the monuments of the ancient city of Kirkuk in Iraq.
The dome's diameter is approximately five meters and its height is ten meters. The foundation of the building was built on a solid foundation with two floors. The wall of the first floor forms the middle section and contains three windows and an entrance to the interior, which contains inscriptions and writing. The upper floor houses the octagonal dome, which rests on four semicircular arches. The ground floor contains a rectangular hole, three meters long, more than two meters wide, and two meters deep. It is said to house the remains of Lady Bogdai Khatun. The dome has been exposed to erosion and age, and some of its walls have fallen. The pieces of its construction, especially the colored squares written on them, need maintenance.
