The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the launch of the third edition of the Higher Education Reading Award, targeting undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as international students residing and currently studying in Iraqi universities.
This edition comes as part of the Ministry's efforts to promote a culture of critical and intellectual reading among students. The selected book for this year's competition is "The Problem of Culture" by the Arab thinker Malek Bennabi.
The total prize value is 100 million Iraqi dinars, distributed among the top twenty participants as follows:
10 million IQD for the first-place winner
8 million IQD for the second-place winner
5.5 million IQD for the third-place winner
4.5 million IQD for each winner from fourth to twentieth place
Registration for the competition will be available via the online platform from August 10, 2025, until September 28, 2025.
The electronic exam is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
The Ministry emphasizes that registration is only available through the official university email of each student, to ensure the timely delivery of the digital copy of the book and the access code for the exam.
Al-Mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq.
