The increasing penetration of renewable energy sources like solar and wind has created a demand for efficient energy storage solutions to ensure grid stability and reliable power supply. Energy storage systems store excess energy generated during peak production and release it when generation is low or demand is high. Technologies such as batteries (lithium-ion, flow batteries), pumped hydro storage, compressed air energy storage, and thermal storage are being deployed worldwide. Each technology offers unique benefits and limitations in terms of cost, capacity, efficiency, and environmental impact. Developing scalable, cost-effective, and sustainable energy storage solutions is critical to accelerating the global transition to clean energy and meeting climate goals.
