Under the patronage of the esteemed President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani,
the Department of Medical Biotechnology held a workshop entitled “The Impact of Nuclear Radiation on DNA”, presented by the department’s coordinator, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Zuhair Naji.

The event took place on Monday, June 23, 2015, in the Central Activities Hall of the Medical Building.

The workshop highlighted the biological hazards of nuclear radiation and its direct impact on genetic material, in addition to discussing protection mechanisms and preventive measures.
This event is part of a series of scientific activities through which the department aims to enhance academic and research awareness in vital areas related to health and the environment.
