Under the slogan “Law as an Effective Tool to Confront Contemporary Challenges”, and under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the College of Law held its Fourth Legal Conference.
The conference witnessed the participation of more than seventy legal research papers across various fields of law, presented by scholars from different Iraqi universities.
The event was attended by a distinguished group of prominent figures, including Judge Muslim Al-Omari, President of the Babylon Court of Appeal; Sheikh Habib Al-Halawi, Member of the Iraqi Parliament and Head of the Sadiqoun Bloc; Professor Dr. Ameen Al-Yasiri, President of the University of Babylon, accompanied by his administrative and scientific assistants; Judge Hussein Shakir Al-Janabi, President of the Public Prosecution Authority in Babylon; and Professor Dr. Miri Al-Khaigani, Head of the Committee of Deans of Law Colleges in Iraq and Dean of the College of Law at the University of Babylon. The conference also welcomed a number of deans from Iraqi universities, heads of administrative units in the province, a large gathering of faculty members and researchers from across Iraq, as well as a distinguished group of students from Al-Mustaqbal University.
In his speech, Professor Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law, highlighted that this conference, organized in cooperation with the College of Law at the University of Babylon, aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
The conference concluded with a set of recommendations directed to the Iraqi legislator, aiming to guide efforts toward amending and modernizing the current legislative framework.
