The College of Education at Al-Mustaqbal University celebrated International Literacy Day, which falls on the 8th of September each year, reaffirming the vital role of education in building individuals and promoting sustainable development.
The celebration included a speech by the Dean of the College, highlighting the importance of literacy as a national and social responsibility that contributes to the advancement of cultural and social realities, in addition to empowering individuals to exercise their rights and achieve their aspirations.
The event also featured the presentation of several research papers and scientific discussions addressing Iraq’s efforts in combating illiteracy, as well as the importance of cooperation between educational institutions and civil society in this field. Moreover, successful experiences of literacy programs were showcased.
The ceremony concluded with the honoring of a group of students and participants who contributed to awareness and educational campaigns in the field of literacy, reaffirming the College’s mission of serving the community and raising awareness.
