In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education),
the Department of Industrial Technologies at the College of Health and Medical Technologies – Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific visit to Imam Al-Sadiq Hospital (PBUH).A group of students from the department participated in the visit under the supervision of Dr. Talib Jijan Al-Shammari and the department's rapporteur, Assistant Lecturer Zainab Ali Al-Khafaji.The visit included a field training workshop that involved a practical explanation of kidney devices and the operational mechanisms of dialysis machines. Students were introduced to the steps of operating these machines and their vital role in both diagnosis and treatment, with the support and guidance of the hospital’s specialized staff.
Dr. Talib Jijan Al-Shammari also delivered an informative lecture on the latest techniques used in dialysis units and methods of directly monitoring patients' conditions. He further discussed the causes of kidney failure and its negative impact on patients’ lives from health, psychological, and financial perspectives.
Assistant Lecturer Zainab Ali Al-Khafaji emphasized the importance of developing the humanitarian aspect in students through direct interaction with patients. She noted that such engagement has a positive impact on enhancing students’ commitment to their studies and encouraging them to value the practical side of healthcare, which is essential in providing patient care.This scientific visit aimed to strengthen the students' practical experience by connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world applications in hospitals. It also sought to equip them with hands-on skills that enhance their scientific and professional competencies, better preparing them to enter the healthcare job market.
