n pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: The Department of Kidney Dialysis Technologies at the College of Health and Medical Technologies – Al-Mustaqbal University held its second council meeting for the academic year 2025–2026, chaired by Professor Dr. Younis Abdul-Ridha Al-Khafaji, with the membership of Professor Dr. Ahmed Khudair Abis, and in the presence of Assistant Lecturer Zainab Ali Mohsen as a member and secretary.
The council reviewed several important topics, including:
• Discussing the results of the second term of the previous academic year and making the necessary recommendations to ensure the improvement of students’ academic performance.
• Reviewing the ministry’s decisions and directives and adapting them to the department’s plans in a way that serves the academic mission.
• Examining the study schedules for all levels and ensuring the regularity of theoretical and practical lectures in line with the requirements of modern curricula.
• Planning activities for the Sustainability Camp and enhancing student participation in extracurricular activities related to sustainable development.
• Activating the activities of the Women’s Empowerment Committee within the department through initiatives and programs supporting female students and staff.
• Reviewing the department’s research plans, including encouraging faculty members to publish in reputable journals and directing research to address applied issues that serve the community and the health sector.
• Student and cultural activities and their role in developing students’ skills and shaping their personalities.
• Developing the educational environment by improving the infrastructure of laboratories and classrooms and monitoring students’ needs and modern equipment.
At the conclusion of its session, the council emphasized the necessity of cooperation and teamwork, as well as commitment to the department’s and university’s plans, in order to strengthen the position of the Department of Industrial College Technologies as one of the leading departments in its scientific and practical fields.
