The Sustainability Ambassadors of the Forensic Science Department – College of Science – Al-Mustaqbal University organized a unique activity simulating a crime scene in a realistic and interactive manner. The event was held under the direct supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sami Abdul Hussein Habbana, Head of the Forensic Science Department, and Asst. Lecturer Riam Thaer Ahmed, Department Rapporteur, with the active participation of a distinguished group of students.

The activity included a practical demonstration of crime scene management, starting from securing the site and collecting evidence, to analyzing findings and preparing final reports. The event aimed to connect the scientific and professional aspects of forensic investigations with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), raising students’ awareness of the critical role of criminal justice in building safe and just societies.

SDGs highlighted by the activity:

Goal 4 – Quality Education: Enhance practical education for students through hands-on, field-based learning experiences.

Goal 5 – Gender Equality: Ensure equal participation of male and female students and fair task distribution during the simulation.

Goal 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: Highlight the role of forensic investigations in promoting justice and building trust in legal institutions.

Goal 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: Strengthen collaboration between faculty members and students to achieve educational and sustainability objectives.

The organizers emphasized that such practical applications help students develop teamwork, professionalism, and critical thinking skills, preparing them to support the judicial system and contribute to sustainable development.
