As part of its commitment to promoting safety culture and risk prevention, Al-Mustaqbal University, in cooperation with the Civil Defense Directorate of Babylon, organized an exciting field exercise simulating emergency fire response, attended by the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, along with faculty members, staff, and students.
The exercise included a live simulation of a fire outbreak inside one of the university buildings, during which Civil Defense teams, supported by university volunteers, demonstrated rapid response mechanisms, evacuation procedures, the use of modern firefighting equipment, and the rescue of injured individuals in line with international safety standards.
In his remarks, the University President praised the vital role of the Civil Defense Directorate in raising preventive awareness and training youth to handle emergency situations. He further emphasized that the university is committed to organizing such activities, given their positive impact on enhancing students’ practical skills and reinforcing their sense of social responsibility.
Representatives of the Civil Defense Directorate expressed their appreciation for the initiative of Al-Mustaqbal University, stressing that such collaborations highlight the importance of joint efforts between educational institutions and service authorities in serving the community.
The event concluded with recommendations to continue holding similar training workshops and practical simulations, in order to strengthen safety practices and ensure a secure academic environment in accordance with international quality and safety standards.
