As part of joint cooperation between educational and security institutions, and with the aim of reinforcing a culture of safety and risk prevention, the Civil Defense Directorate in Babylon Governorate, in collaboration with Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a large-scale awareness event on the university campus. The event was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the Administrative Assistant, Prof. Dr. Munther Fadel Hassan, the Director of the Office Affairs Department, as well as deans, faculty members, and administrative staff.

The event was also attended by several security leaders and officials, including Legal Major General Alaa Mahna Naghmash, Head of the Inspection Authority in the Internal Security Forces at the Ministry of Interior; Legal Brigadier General Asaad Mubarak Mohammed, Director of Civil Defense in Babylon; Brigadier General Amjad Abbas Hassoun, Director of Babylon Intelligence and Security; Brigadier General Haider Mohammed Hanoun, Director of Babylon Intelligence; Legal Major General Salam Nouri, Director of Babylon Traffic Police; along with Babylon Provincial Council Member Mr. Ahmed Badr Watwat.

The activity targeted university staff and students, focusing on enhancing maximum readiness to respond to emergencies. It included guidance on primary safety measures and fire-fighting, through both theoretical and practical demonstrations on the use of fire extinguishers, their types, and the steps to follow in the event of a fire. Participants also received training on the fundamentals of first aid, providing quick assistance to the injured before the arrival of specialized medical teams. In addition, a practical simulation of organized and rapid evacuation of university buildings was conducted to ensure everyone’s safety during emergencies.

The Civil Defense Directorate in Babylon emphasized that this partnership with educational institutions represents an important step in spreading a culture of prevention and practical training on risk management, contributing to the reduction of human and material losses. Al-Mustaqbal University, for its part, praised the efforts made to ensure the success of the event, affirming that the safety of students and staff is a top priority, and that such training programs enhance campus security and strengthen preparedness to handle various emergencies.
