As part of the joint cooperation between educational and security institutions, and with the aim of reinforcing a culture of safety and risk prevention, the Civil Defense Directorate in Babylon, in collaboration with Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a wide-ranging awareness event on the university campus. The event was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the Administrative Assistant, Prof. Dr. Munther Fadel Hassan, the Director of the Administrative Affairs Department, along with deans, academic, and administrative staff.

The activity also witnessed the presence of several security leaders and officials, including Lt. Gen. Ala Mahna Naghmash, Head of the Inspection Authority at the Ministry of Interior’s Internal Security Forces, Brig. Gen. Asaad Mubarak Mohammed, Director of Civil Defense in Babylon, Brig. Gen. Amjad Abbas Hassoun, Director of Babylon Intelligence and Security, Brig. Gen. Haider Mohammed Hanoun, Director of Babylon Intelligence, and Lt. Gen. Salam Nouri, Director of Babylon Traffic Police, in addition to Mr. Ahmed Badr Watwat, Member of Babylon Provincial Council.

The event targeted both university staff and students, focusing on strengthening readiness to respond to emergencies. The program included first aid and fire safety training, with both practical and theoretical explanations on the use and types of fire extinguishers, and the proper steps to follow in case of fire. Participants also received training on the basics of first aid, enabling them to provide immediate assistance to injured individuals before medical teams arrive. Additionally, a simulation of organized evacuation procedures was conducted to ensure the safety of all individuals on campus in the event of emergencies.

The Civil Defense Directorate in Babylon emphasized that this partnership with educational institutions represents an important step in promoting a culture of prevention and practical training in risk management, which contributes to reducing both human and material losses. Al-Mustaqbal University praised the efforts made to ensure the success of the event, affirming that the safety of students and staff is a top priority, and that such training programs enhance campus safety and improve preparedness to deal with various emergencies.
