Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a remarkable scientific milestone, topping the list of private universities in Iraq in terms of research output, according to the latest release by the global Scopus database, which tracks research publication indicators across Iraqi universities.
According to the report, Al-Mustaqbal University has published a total of 5,243 scientific papers indexed in Scopus, securing first place among private universities and 11th place overall among 188 academic and research institutions featured in the report.
In an official statement to the university’s media office, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, expressed his pride in this achievement, highlighting that it reflects the ongoing efforts of the university’s faculty and researchers in fostering a culture of scientific research and innovation. That report noted the university’s excellence in publishing within high-impact Q1 and Q2 journals, and surpassing 43,000 citations under the university’s name, in addition to its distinguished contributions to research aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In conclusion, Dr. Majdi congratulated all university affiliates—faculty, staff, and students—on this outstanding achievement, calling for continued teamwork and excellence not only in research but across all academic and administrative endeavors. He reaffirmed his full support for all initiatives aimed at achieving the highest standards of quality and leadership, in alignment with the university’s mission and vision to always deliver the best.
