Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved an unprecedented global accomplishment by ranking first in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy for All.

During the announcement ceremony held today, Tuesday, 17 June 2025, in Istanbul, the British Times organization unveiled the global rankings for universities in sustainable development. Al-Mustaqbal University topped the world in SDG 7, becoming the first Arab and Iraqi university in history to earn this distinguished recognition.

Additionally, the university secured first place in Iraq and was ranked within the 200–300 bracket globally, representing the highest position ever attained by an Iraqi institution in SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The official results will be formally revealed tomorrow during the 2025 “Sustainable Development Goals for Universities” summit organized by Times Higher Education.
