Under the patronage and attendance of Mr. Adnan Feyhan Al-Dulaimi, Governor of Babil, and in line with Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision to support youth talents and foster pioneering initiatives, preparations have officially begun at the university for the Future Ambassadors for Sustainability Camp, scheduled to take place in early October at the Babil Tourist Resort.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Governor, Professor Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, President of the University, along with assistants, deans, department directors, faculty members, and students participating in the Future Ambassadors for Sustainability program.

The event began with a presentation by Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, outlining the camp’s details, strategic objectives, ongoing preparations, and the announcement of the AI for Sustainability Hackathon, providing a creative platform for students to apply technology in addressing sustainable development challenges.

This was followed by a panel discussion featuring the Governor, the University President, and Professor Dr. Ammar Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law. In his opening remarks, the President welcomed attendees, praised the Governor’s active support in various scientific and cultural forums, and emphasized that the camp serves as a platform for exchanging ideas among youth and networking with partners from different sectors.

The Governor expressed his appreciation to Al-Mustaqbal University for adopting such pioneering initiatives, the first of their kind among Iraqi universities, stressing that the camp will play a key role in fostering national belonging and strengthening community identity, while confirming continued local government support for the university’s projects, which have made it a leading scientific and cultural hub in the governorate.

The session concluded with the Governor sharing his vision on several related issues, alongside interventions and discussions from faculty and students, emphasizing the need to complete all necessary preparations to ensure the camp’s success and highlight Al-Mustaqbal University’s leadership and its local and international prominence.
