The event began with an opening speech by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Ali Al-Dulaimi, in which he emphasized Future University's commitment, under the direct guidance of its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdi, to commemorating international events related to public health and the environment. He also emphasized the importance of ongoing awareness-raising in combating negative phenomena, most notably smoking.
The event included an awareness lecture delivered by Dr. Laith Ali Matar, an instructor in the Department of Business Administration, who addressed the health, environmental, and social dimensions of smoking, reviewing the most prominent recent studies and strategies adopted locally and internationally to reduce the spread of this harmful habit. Awareness publications were also distributed to promote health awareness among students and members of the university community, encouraging them to adopt a smoke-free lifestyle.
