As part of its prominent participation in the Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC 2025) organized by Times Higher Education in Istanbul, Turkey, Al-Mustaqbal University continued its high-level engagement in the sessions of the third day of the congress. The day featured a series of global dialogues on innovation, sustainability, and academic and societal transformations in light of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The day began with a wellness session led by the University of Hong Kong, which promoted health and well-being through the practice of Tai Chi. This was followed by several high-impact sessions that explored the role of universities as engines of societal change, the impact of artificial intelligence on addressing global inequalities, youth and women empowerment, social innovation, digital transformation in education, as well as climate change, water resource management, and environmental governance.
The Al-Mustaqbal University delegation, represented by Dr. Azher Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, Dr. Riyadh Hamed Salman, Director of Quality Assurance, Engineer Ali Abdulhussein, Director of University Rankings, and several key specialists, actively engaged with leading international experts and exchanged perspectives on aligning institutional strategies with global sustainability pathways. This engagement reinforces the university’s readiness to make a real and lasting impact both locally and globally.
The university's participation in these sessions reaffirmed its vision to be a globally active academic institution that contributes meaningfully to vital issues facing humanity—through flexible educational policies, knowledge empowerment, innovation, and sustainable partnerships.
