On the morning of Saturday, April 19, 2025, the activities of the Fourth Media Dialogue Forum were launched with broad official and academic attendance, as part of the Third International Future Week Festival for Sustainability, held at Al-Mustaqbal University from April 16 to 24, 2025.
The event comes within the framework of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 4 (SDG-4): Quality Education. The festival’s activities continue, with the Fourth Media Dialogue Forum being held amidst significant official and academic presence.
Among the distinguished guests at the forum were the Administrative Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Dr. Fadel Al-Badran, the President of the Union of Iraqi Writers, Mr. Ali Al-Fawaz, and the President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, Dr. Ali Maseer. They were warmly received by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, along with the senior university staff and a large number of specialized academics and media professionals from Iraq and abroad.
The forum was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University. It was opened with a speech delivered on behalf of the university presidency by Prof. Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuheiri, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision. He emphasized that choosing the topic of Artificial Intelligence and its Applications in Media reflects the university’s deep awareness of the rapid changes occurring globally, and the growing impact of this technology on the media industry — in terms of production, distribution, audience analysis, and message development.
He added that the research and discussions presented during the forum, covering topics such as the ethics of artificial intelligence, its use in newsrooms, media marketing, and audience behavior analysis, represent a significant step toward building a critical and practical understanding of this major digital transformation. He stressed that the future of media requires a genuine partnership between human intellect and artificial intelligence — a partnership that lays the foundation for a more innovative, impactful, and humane media.
In a statement to the university’s media, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, highlighted the importance of media in the current stage across all aspects of life, including promoting awareness of sustainability and preserving resources for future generations — whether through print, visual, or audio media. He also emphasized the importance of harnessing modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, to create a media landscape that meets the demands of the era.
It is worth noting that the festival’s activities will continue in the coming days, with strong engagement from academics, students, and partner institutions, reaffirming Al-Mustaqbal University’s position as a leading platform in advancing sustainability and societal
development.
