The Continuing Education Center at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific symposium on the occasion of World Heritage Day, held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Hall of the Engineering Building. The event was titled “Baghdad, the Capital of Arab Tourism”, and aimed to highlight the deep historical and cultural legacy of Baghdad, and its pioneering role in shaping cultural and tourism identity at both local and Arab levels.
The symposium featured lectures by:
Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Atiya Al-Saadi, Assistant Dean of the College of Fine Arts,
Dr. Fawziya Mahdi Al-Maliki, Head of the Department of Archaeology, College of Arts and Humanities.
The symposium covered several themes, including the historical, aesthetic, and architectural dimensions of the city of Baghdad, its role as a beacon of cultural and tourism influence in the Arab world, and the challenges and future opportunities for revitalizing the tourism sector amid growing interest in cultural heritage.
This event is part of a series of scientific and cultural activities organized by the university, affirming its commitment to actively contributing to the reinforcement of cultural identity and academic engagement with issues related to heritage and tourism.
