The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Professor Dr. Hussein Waheed Aziz, attended the activities of the World Day to Combat Desertification, which was held this morning at the University of the Al-Mustaqbal, with the participation of a number of professors, researchers, and those interested in environmental affairs and sustainable development.
The event included awareness speeches and presentations that highlighted the importance of addressing the phenomenon of desertification and ways to enhance community awareness towards protecting natural resources and confronting climate changes.
The Dean praised the active role played by universities in spreading the culture of environmental sustainability, stressing the importance of involving students in these purposeful initiatives that develop their sense of responsibility towards the environment and society.
