The Department of Archaeological Studies, Research, and Training organized a cultural seminar on the path of martyrdom and the journey of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) from Mecca to Karbala. Dr. Al-Maliki discussed the path taken by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) from Mecca to Karbala, highlighting key historical stops and cities he passed through, as well as significant events that occurred along the way. She also presented historical texts and archaeological sources to confirm the true landmarks of this path, known as the "Old Hajj Route," and shed light on important archaeological discoveries made along the route using modern Geographic Information Systems (GIS) documentation. The authority had launched a project to document this route from Al-Uqba Fortress to Karbala, in a scientific and spiritual effort to revive the memory of the path taken by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in his eternal revolution. At the end of the seminar, Undersecretary Al-Sudani presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Fawzia Al-Maliki in recognition of her rich and profound contributions to the topic.
