n support of good education, the President of Almustaqbal University, Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, College of Arts - Department of Archaeology Partnership in the Babylon 2 project, scheduled to launch on December 1, 2025. The project aims to rebuild the knowledge and skills necessary to protect sustainable earthen buildings as part of Mesopotamian identity.
The project also focuses on partnerships with foreign groups to conduct and implement training courses and activities for professors and students in the Department of Archaeology, led by a group of local and international experts. These include:
- University of Cagliari (UNICA) - Italy
- Province of Sardinia - Italy
- World Monuments Fund (WMF) - United States of America
- International Center for Earthen Architecture - CRAterre - France
- General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage - Ministry of Culture
- University of Nahrain - Baghdad
- University of Karbala
The project will be implemented by students and faculty members from Iraqi universities and supervising experts from the above, by building a pilot model within the ancient city of Babylon or in the Almustaqbal University building.
