In line with the slogan "Towards a Sustainable University" and the fourteenth Sustainable Development Goal (Life Below Water), students from the Department of Anesthesia Technology at the College of Health and Medical Technology at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a unique environmental campaign aimed at preserving fish stocks in the Shatt al-Hilla River. This campaign involved releasing 1,000 carp into the river.

This initiative aims to support the aquatic ecosystem and encourage the natural reproduction of local fish species, given the environmental challenges facing Iraqi rivers, such as pollution and overfishing.

The campaign organizers stated that this event stemmed from the students' sense of social responsibility toward their environment, emphasizing that concern for health is not limited to humans alone, but also encompasses the environment and all living organisms.

Al-Mustaqbal University is the leading university in Iraq.
