In alignment with the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals — Good Health and Well-being — and as part of the Department of Optics Techniques’ commitment to supervising its students and ensuring a distinguished training environment, the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Mundher Sameen Shakir, accompanied by Assistant Lecturer Muhimin Sameer Aref, visited Al-Salam Private Hospital on July 21, 2025, to review the progress of the department’s students in their summer training program.
The visit aimed to assess the extent of the students’ engagement with the practical aspects of the hospital environment and to ensure the training aligns with the scientific and skill-based goals the department strives to achieve. During the visit, discussions were also held with hospital staff to emphasize the importance of strengthening collaboration between academic institutions and healthcare facilities to help enhance the students’ competencies and develop their professional skills.
It is worth mentioning that the summer training program is a fundamental component of the practical curriculum for the Optics Techniques Department, as it plays a crucial role in enriching students’ applied experience and preparing them for the labor market with competence and professionalism.
