As part of the preparations for the Sustainability Camp, the Department of Anesthesia Techniques organized an online workshop entitled:
“Anesthesia and Climate Change: Understanding the Greenhouse Gas Impacts of Inhaled Agents”, delivered by Prof. Dr. Aqeel Hanzal Tarish.
The workshop addressed the relationship between anesthesia practices and climate change, highlighting the environmental impacts of inhaled agents used in surgical procedures and the necessity of seeking more sustainable and less harmful alternatives.
Dr. Aqeel emphasized that raising awareness among medical professionals about such environmental issues is an important step toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being and Goal 13: Climate Action.
