As part of the preparations for the Sustainability Camp, the Department of Anesthesia Techniques organized an online specialized workshop titled “Tracheostomy Procedure and Its Importance in Intensive Care.”
The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Saad Abdul Rahim Hussein, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Khudair Al-Humairi, Head of the Department of Anesthesia Techniques, along with a number of faculty members and students from the department.

The workshop discussed the significance of tracheostomy as a vital medical procedure that helps secure the airway for patients in critical conditions. It also covered the types and modern methods of performing the procedure, as well as the essential role of the anesthesia team in supervising these interventions within intensive care units.

Participants emphasized the importance of such scientific activities in developing the skills of Anesthesia Techniques students and enhancing their readiness to handle critical situations in clinical environments. The event aligns with the objectives of the Sustainability Camp in supporting applied medical education and contributes to achieving the third United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (Good Health and Well-Being), which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
