As part of its community service efforts and commitment to environmental sustainability, Future University launched a tree-planting campaign on campus in celebration of the International Day of Forests. The initiative was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majid, University President, and supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Furat Hamza Abd Kathim, Dean of the College of Sciences, and was organized by the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems.

The campaign witnessed active participation from both faculty and students, with 6 faculty members and 10 students planting 20 diverse saplings across the university grounds. The event reflected the university’s commitment to volunteer environmental work and raising public awareness on the importance of green spaces.

This initiative is part of a series of environmental activities that the university implements as part of its community engagement strategy, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly Goal 13: Climate Action and Goal 15: Life on Land—by supporting efforts to combat climate change and restore natural ecosystems.

This campaign reaffirms Al-Mustaqbal University’s standing as Iraq’s first leading university in promoting sustainability and social responsibility.
