On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, the Sustainability Ambassadors at the College of Sciences organized an awareness campaign aimed at highlighting the significance of this global day, its historical background, and the various ways in which workers are honored and appreciated.

The campaign included educational segments that explored the origins of Workers’ Day, celebrated annually on May 1st, and shed light on the struggles of workers to gain their rights and achieve social justice and fair working conditions. Informative brochures were distributed, and open discussions were held between students and faculty members on the role of workers in achieving sustainable development and the importance of respecting their rights and ensuring a safe and equitable work environment.

Organizers emphasized that this event aligns with the principles of social sustainability, and underlines that labor justice is a core pillar in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.

The campaign received positive engagement from students and faculty, who affirmed the importance of promoting a culture of appreciation and respect for everyone who contributes to the progress of society.
