In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) focuses on improving human health and well-being by ensuring access to comprehensive healthcare and improving the quality of life for all. Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities): This goal focuses on improving the urban environment and ensuring that cities and communities are able to meet the current and future needs of their populations in a sustainable manner.

Sustainability Ambassadors in the biology Department organized an awareness campaign on the Future of Renewable Energy, which included distributing awareness brochures to university students.
This campaign aims to highlight the importance of adopting renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydropower, and their role in reducing environmental pollution and climate change, and achieving sustainable development.

The brochures included simplified and comprehensive information on:

Types of renewable energy.

Their environmental and economic benefits.

Solar energy:
Directed from sunlight, it is used to generate electricity or heat water through solar panels or thermal collectors.

Wind energy
Generated from the movement of wind through wind turbines, it is one of the world's fastest-growing and most widespread renewable energy sources.

Hydroelectric energy
Relies on the movement of water in rivers or dams to generate electricity through hydroelectric turbines.

Biomass
Produced from organic materials such as agricultural waste or wood, it can be converted into fuel or heat and electricity.

Geothermal energy
Comes from the heat of the Earth's interior and is used to generate electricity or heating through special plants that use steam or hot water.

Ocean energy (including):

Wave energy

Tidal energy
Generated from the movement of seawater. These technologies are still in the development and testing stages in some countries.
