With the Participation of Asst. Prof. Dr. Azher Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, and in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to support Iraqi universities in fulfilling national institutional accreditation requirements, Al-Mustaqbal University hosted the national training workshop titled:
"Addressing the Conditional Institutional Accreditation Status."
The workshop was organized by the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Apparatus / Department of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation – Quality Assurance Division, in coordination with the Institutional Accreditation Council.
This event reflects the university’s firm commitment to promoting a culture of quality and institutional development. The workshop witnessed distinguished official attendance, led by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, who emphasized in his speech that the university has made quality and academic accreditation a strategic pillar in its institutional planning.
Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at the university, delivered the opening speech, highlighting that institutional accreditation is a powerful tool to enhance academic performance and build public trust in educational outcomes.
The workshop, led by Prof. Dr. Khalil Ibrahim, representative of the Institutional Accreditation Council, saw wide participation from deans and quality managers representing several Iraqi universities, including: Kufa, Mustansiriyah, Anbar, Karbala, Muthanna, University of Technology, Mosul, Babylon, Northern Technical University, Middle Technical University, Al-Ameed, Al-Kafeel, Al-Farahidi, in addition to Al-Mustaqbal University.
Participants discussed mechanisms to bridge the gaps identified in the conditional accreditation reports, and strategies to move toward full, sustainable institutional accreditation through academic governance and continuous quality improvement systems.
Goal:
This workshop aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. It also supports the university’s direction toward institutional excellence and improving its position in global academic rankings.
