Under the generous patronage of the esteemed President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and with the support of the French Embassy in Iraq and the French Cultural Institute in Baghdad, the College of Fine Arts at Al-Mustaqbal University, in collaboration with the College of Fine Arts at the University of Babylon, organized the "5th Edition of the Babylon Animation Film Festival" on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Central Activities Hall at Al-Mustaqbal University.
The festival was attended by an elite group of distinguished artists from the fields of theater, television, and cinema, along with a number of prominent artistic and academic figures. Notable attendees included the Dean of the College of Fine Arts at Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Huda Hashem Mohammed Al-Rubaie, the Scientific Assistant Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Atiya Mousa Al-Saadi, Professor Dr. Mahmoud Razouqi Al-Abbasi (Head of the Interior Design Department), and Professor Dr. Aref Waheed Al-Khafaji (Head of the Art Education Department).
Also present was the Scientific Assistant to the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, who delivered an opening speech emphasizing the role of the arts in supporting the goals of sustainable development.
From the College of Fine Arts at the University of Babylon, attendees included the Dean, Professor Dr. Amer Sabah Al-Marzouq, the Scientific Assistant Dean, Dr. Raad Matar, and Dr. Uday Mohammed Abdul Ali, Director of the Training and Development Center. Additionally, Mr. Naib Talib Al-Sarhan, Director of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Mohammed Omar, Head of the Theater Arts Department at the University of Baghdad, attended the event, along with the renowned director and artist Hussein Al-Akeeli.
The festival featured remarkable artistic performances that reflected the professionalism of its organizers and focused on the emergence and evolution of animation art and its significant role in today's labor market. The event highlighted the vital connection between artistic creativity and sustainable development to foster a promising future for the creative industries.
