Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir, and the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Walaa Al-Falluji, the Sustainability Ambassadors Unit at the College of Medicine organized a volunteer awareness campaign focused on supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities.
The campaign was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Walaa Luay Al-Falluji and faculty members:
Asst. Lecturer Sarmad Saleh Jawad, Asst. Lecturer Doaa Kareem Mirza, along with the participation of Sustainability Ambassadors students:
Tabarak Fadel, Baneen Falah, Mariam Abbas, Osama Mohammed, Hussein Ali Jabbar, Baqer Mustafa, Ali Hussein Nassif, and Al-Hassan Mushtaq.
The campaign included detailed presentations on improving the health and well-being of people of determination through various activities such as:
Sports and recreational activities
Health workshops
Psychological care sessions
Awareness on the importance of both physical and mental health for individuals with disabilities
Community support efforts to promote social inclusion and enhance their quality of life
Additionally, awareness brochures were distributed as part of the campaign.
Students from the College of Medicine actively engaged in explaining these concepts to their peers from other colleges at Al-Mustaqbal University.
The goal was to raise health, cultural, and emotional awareness among students and to enhance their ability to support and empower people with disabilities.
