A delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, headed by Engineer Jumaa Al-Bahadli, the Ministry's Technical Undersecretary, congratulated AL_Mustaqbal University in Babylon on its global achievement of being ranked first globally in the seventh Sustainable Development Goal (Affordable and Clean Energy) according to the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings 2025.
The delegation praised the university's distinguished academic standing at the local and international levels, emphasizing that this unprecedented distinction embodies Iraq's leadership in the field of sustainable development and clean energy, and is a source of pride for Iraq and the Arab world. The delegation also reviewed the university's most prominent initiatives and programs in developing modern renewable energy technologies, and its strategies for keeping pace with global trends toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Munther Fadhel Hassan, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, welcomed the visiting delegation on behalf of the University President, Professor Hassan Shaker Majdi. He expressed his pride in this national and global achievement and commended the Ministry of Industry and Minerals' initiative and its continued support for educational and research institutions to enhance Iraq's global standing.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of strengthening the framework of joint cooperation between AL_Mustaqbal University and the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, which will contribute to achieving further scientific and innovative achievements and supporting the process of sustainable development in Iraq.
