The Department of English at the College of Education, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a scientific workshop entitled "Understanding the Organs of Speech", delivered by Ms. Estabraq Waleed Atwan, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and students.
The workshop explored the speech organs involved in the production of speech sounds. Participants learned about the main articulators such as the tongue, lips, and palate, and their role in producing consonants and vowels. It also covered fundamental concepts in phonetics, including the classification of speech organs and the distinction between voiced and voiceless sounds.
This activity comes as part of the department’s continuous efforts to strengthen the practical knowledge of its students and to broaden their understanding of phonetics in line with their academic requirements.
