The staff of the Al_mustaqbal Energy Research Center at the University distributed awareness brochures to university students entitled: “Water Resources and Climate Change: The Importance of Saving Water.” This initiative aims to raise environmental awareness and promote sustainability concepts among students. Water resources are among the most essential elements of life on our planet, as they are vital for drinking, agriculture, industry, and maintaining ecosystems. Conserving water is crucial for maintaining environmental balance, reducing the energy used in water treatment and distribution, and ensuring its availability for future generations. The importance of water has increased with climate change, which leads to changes in rainfall patterns and rising temperatures, causing water scarcity in some regions and excess in others. Therefore, water conservation and awareness of its importance have become more critical than ever. Saving water also helps reduce pollution, protect the environment, and enhance communities’ ability to adapt to the impacts of climate change, ensuring the sustainability of natural resources for present and future generations. This initiative reflects the University of the Future’s commitment to supporting awareness activities that contribute to building an environmentally responsible and sustainability-oriented generation.

As part of the practical and research activities carried out by the Energy Research Center at Al-Mustaqbal University to develop renewable energy applications in the agricultural sector, the solar irrigation system was connected to multiple types of solar panels during the previous day, with the aim of studying the system’s practical performance and collecting operational data under different operating conditions. The work included connecting the solar irrigation system with three different types of solar panels, as follows: • First type: A movable LONGi solar panel with a capacity of 545 W, used to study the effect of movement and tilt angle variation on energy production efficiency. • Second type: A Jinko solar panel with a capacity of 650 W, for the purpose of comparing its performance with other panel types while operating under the same load conditions. • Third type: The original solar panel of the irrigation system, a Maxma panel with a capacity of 200 W, which serves as a reference for comparison with the other panels. The connection process was implemented using an Optimizer system to enhance the performance of the solar panels and reduce energy losses. This setup also enabled the collection of accurate operational data, including voltage, current, power, and generated energy, while operating the solar irrigation system as the load. These activities were carried out under the supervision and implementation of Engineer Ali Nael Hassan and Researcher Israa Mohammed Hassan, who emphasized that this practical application represents an important step in supporting scientific research and conducting technical performance comparisons among different types of solar panels used in agricultural systems. The team indicated that the collected data will be utilized in research studies and applied experiments, as well as in the preparation of training workshops for students and those interested in solar energy and sustainable irrigation systems.
