An advanced training course titled “Business Plan Development” was organized at Al-Mustaqbal University in collaboration with the Directorate of Innovation and Excellence at the Prime Minister’s Office, from July 13 to 17, 2025, with the participation of 22 students and graduates from various academic disciplines. The course aimed to empower participants with the practical and analytical skills necessary to develop effective and feasible business plans for entrepreneurial projects. Key topics included project idea evaluation, financial planning, market and competitor analysis, innovative marketing strategies, and building strategic networks and partnerships. The training was led by Ms. Omaima Al-Taee, Head of the Career Development, Employment, and Alumni Follow-up Division, who holds an advanced certification in entrepreneurship. This course reflects the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship and to preparing youth to confidently and competently enter the labor market.
As part of the ongoing series of virtual seminars organized by the World Bank in collaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Career Development Division at Al-Mustaqbal University actively participated in a specialized webinar titled: "Renewable Energy Skills: Labor Market Demands and Enhancing Graduate Readiness" This knowledge-sharing series is designed to empower Iraqi universities to keep pace with global transformations in the energy sector, and to enhance graduate competencies aligned with future labor market needs—particularly within the realms of the green economy and environmental transition. The session featured a keynote lecture by Dr. Cornelia Jesse, an international expert in higher education development and policy planning within European contexts. Dr. Jesse serves at the French Ministry of Higher Education, where she contributes to the development of strategic education policies that align academic programs with labor market demands—particularly in the fields of innovation and sustainability. Key discussion topics included: Core skills required for emerging careers in the renewable energy sector Strategies for adapting academic curricula to meet evolving labor market needs The role of academia–industry partnerships in preparing students for the green workforce Insights from the French experience in graduate tracer systems and aligning higher education with the green transition Al-Mustaqbal University’s Career Development Division reaffirms its commitment to integrating such forward-thinking practices into its professional training and career-readiness strategies. By engaging in these impactful initiatives, the division aims to ensure that graduates are equipped to contribute meaningfully to national and global sustainability and clean energy priorities.
As part of its commitment to enhancing the alignment between higher education outcomes and labor market needs, career development division at Al-Mustaqbal University participated in an interactive virtual workshop organized by the World Bank via Zoom, titled: "Why Is Graduate Tracing Important? And What Are the Global Best Practices?" The session featured distinguished contributions from international education policy experts, including: Romina Miorelli – an international expert in graduate tracking and education policy. Cornelia Jesse – a representative of the French Ministry of Higher Education, specializing in bridging higher education with European labor market demands. The workshop focused on analyzing the three main models of graduate tracking systems — administrative, survey-based, and hybrid — examining the advantages and challenges of each, particularly in changing economic contexts. The French model was highlighted as a leading international example for managing and analyzing graduate data by field of study, institution, and academic level. Participants discussed the strategic use of graduate data in shaping academic policy, guiding students toward high-demand disciplines, and fostering data-driven improvements in graduate outcomes. The importance of involving all stakeholders — including students, alumni, and policymakers — was emphasized as key to building effective, sustainable tracking systems. At the conclusion of the workshop, the career development division at Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirmed its commitment to implementing these best practices through the development of a national digital graduate tracking platform, in collaboration with university faculties and relevant institutions. This initiative aims to improve the university’s graduate outcome performance and enhance alignment with both local and international labor market demands.
Part of its ongoing efforts to enhance Students' Skills and develop their capabilities in line with the Labor Market Requirements, Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-Up Division has organized a Specialized Training Workshop at the College of Science entitled Enhancement of Medical Physics Students' Skills in accordance with Labor Market Requirements" The Workshop has been conducted under the Supervision of Mr. Hussein Naeem, in cooperation with the Physiotherapist Mr. Zaidoun Eyad Ali, in which focus has been concentrated on the importance of linking Students' Theoretical Knowledge with Practical Applications in the Field of Physical Therapy, being a Vital Sector of Healthcare. Besides, the Workshop has emphasized the essential role of Physical Therapy at retrieving joint and muscle movement as well as their flexibility through the use of Modern Technologies, such as Programmed Traction Devices, Medical Lasers, Shock Waves, and Electrical Stimulation Devices. Furthermore, the Workshop has also focused on Physical Therapy as a Non-Surgical Treatment Alternative, stressing the importance of the Patient's Psychological Inclination to accelerate his recovery. There is no doubt that this Workshop has significantly contributed in the enhancement of Students Skills in line with the Labor Market Requirements, being provided with more opportunities to learn about the Latest Techniques in Physical Therapy, and thus becoming highly qualified with greater efficiency. Acquisition of Practical Skills and Experiences has also been taken into consideration as they would enable Students to effectively interact with Practical Challenges at Healthcare Institutions. Accordingly, Achievement of Effective Partnerships between Educational Institutions and Healthcare Sector has been strongly emphasized, with the aim of providing Decent Job Opportunities to Graduates, and therefore, having a role in the improvement of Community Healthcare Quality. We should keep in mind after all that the Workshop has had a vital role in the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 3: Good Health & Well-being, by raising Health Awareness and Prevention, SDG 4: Quality Education that can be achieved through the promotion of Students Technical & Practical Skills, and SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals that can be realized by strengthening cooperation between Universities, Research Centers, as well as Health Sector that would support the provision of Sustainable Job Opportunities, and meanwhile raising the Development of Medical & Therapeutic Knowledge.

Art is no longer just a Hobby, but rather it has become an Integrated Industry that requires Technical Skills, Market Awareness, in addition to having the ability for permanent innovation and development. Besides, the Lecturer has emphasized the need to building an Artist Career Path, which requires continuous exposure to the Latest Global Trends as well as on-going training needed for honing skills, keeping in mind the necessity to Documenting Artwork, as being part of the Artist's Professional Identity. It is remarkable to note as well that the challenges facing Visual Arts in Iraq have also been discussed, as well as the essential role of Art Galleries at the reveal of Young Talents and linking them to Labor Market, since Iraq is deemed as one of the Leading Countries at Selling & Marketing Visual Arts due to its Rich Cultural Heritage. As a Part of Al-Mustaqbal University endeavor to enhance Digital Media Knowledge and consolidate Scientific Research Methodology in an Advanced Academic Environment, Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-Up Division at the College of Arts has organized a Specialized Scientific Workshop entitled “Scientific Courses & Community Coding Skills via Digital Platforms of Universities and Research Centers,” With the active participation of Media Department Academics and Students, the Workshop Lecture has been delivered by Prof Dr. Kamil Al-Qayim who has widely focused on Communication and Media Variables, clarifying the extent of Media Influence in the formulation of Public Opinion that would lead to creating Community Awareness. Besides, he has addressed the common mistakes that Media Students often commit during their Professional Practices, most notably are full reliance on Mobile Phones instead of Computers that shall undoubtedly affect Media Production Quality, in addition to almost neglecting documentation or taking notes during Field Work. Such procedure shall reduce to a great extent the accuracy of the information collected. The Lecturer has also referred to the importance of targeting the right groups when producing Media Content, as it is quite obvious that Poor Identification of the Audience shall lead to losing the real intended value of the Media Message. The Second Workshop issue has dealt with the Educational Processes in the Field of Media, with a main focus on the Scientific Concept and its importance in the creation of a Solid Academic Methodology. Media Coding Skills on the other hand has also been highlighted where Dr. Al-Qayim has explained how these Skills do contribute in the processes of analyzing and transmitting Media Information accurately and systematically, and thus enhancing Media Output Quality and raising Content Level being presented via various platforms. As for the third issue, the lecturer has had the opportunity to discuss the essential role played by Digital Platforms in support of Research at Universities, emphasizing the importance of Research Centers in the development of Knowledge making use of highly Specialized Experts.
