The College of Health and Medical Technologies organized a scientific and humanitarian event on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, under the theme “Together, We Understand Autism,” with the participation of the Center of Specialist Sura Haroun Rashid and a number of its children.
The event included the reception of the center’s children and the organization of a series of recreational and interactive activities that contributed to enhancing their social inclusion and bringing joy to their hearts. It also featured a scientific lecture that addressed Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), focusing on early diagnosis mechanisms and key rehabilitation approaches, while emphasizing the role of families and the wider community in supporting this group.
For her part, the Dean of the College, Dr. Zahraa Halim Al-Qayyim, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting health awareness, reinforcing the values of social responsibility, and supporting individuals with special needs.
The event concluded with honoring Specialist Sura Haroun and the center’s administration in appreciation of their efforts in caring for children and enhancing community awareness.
