Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law, the College of Law, in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, held a scientific symposium, presented by Dr. Ali Jassim Al-Saadi, entitled: "The Legal Regulation of Women's Leave Rights in Iraqi Labor Law," on Monday, April 13, 2025. The symposium addressed legislative aspects related to working women's leave rights, particularly maternity leave, sick leave, maternity leave, and other rights guaranteed under Iraqi Labor Law No. (37) of 2015. The symposium also addressed the extent to which these laws are consistent with international agreements and the challenges facing their implementation in practice. The symposium was attended by a number of faculty members and students. A fruitful academic discussion enriched the topic and highlighted the need to develop legal policies to achieve a balance between the protection of working women and the demands of the labor market. The symposium was attended by Asst. Ammar Yousef Khadir, a member of the College of Law's Liaison Office, and Asst. Mary Omran, representing the Center for Continuing Education.
