As part of the scientific and practical program of summer training, an outstanding scientific lecture was delivered by Consulting Engineer Salim Jassim Hammoud Al-Rubaie, titled: (Bridging Theoretical and Practical Knowledge in the Real Work Structure and Mechanisms for the Success of Investment Projects and the Engineer’s Role in Achieving Them).** The lecture thoroughly addressed the importance of integrating academic study with field experience in the work environment, and how this integration contributes to shaping an engineer capable of making realistic decisions based on a comprehensive scientific and practical understanding. Engineer Salim emphasized the role of the engineer in leading work teams and understanding the requirements of investment projects in terms of cost, time, quality, and smart planning, noting that the success of any project does not depend solely on design, but also on the ability to implement it realistically and effectively in the field. The lecture also presented real examples of successful investment projects and explained the factors that contributed to their success, such as administrative organization, resource control, technical communication skills, in addition to the importance of teamwork and the spirit of initiative within the engineering team. The lecture was characterized by an interactive style, as students participated with a series of questions and contributions that reflected their desire to benefit from field experiences and deepen their awareness of the engineer’s real responsibilities in Al-Mustaqbal projects. This activity comes as part of a series of lectures and practical workshops organized by the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Energy Research, in an effort to bridge the gap between classrooms and the labor market, and to qualify students of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies to become effective contributors in the development and construction efforts of national and investment projects.
