Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week activities, Al-Mustaqbal University continued its fourth day of events under the direct organization and supervision of the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Division, in the presence of the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi. The activities were held within the University’s vision to establish an integrated entrepreneurial ecosystem that fosters innovation and supports startup projects. The Director of the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Division, Professor Dr. Eman Abdul Aziz, emphasized that the Division operates according to a strategic vision aimed at linking educational outcomes with labor market needs, and preparing students and graduates to enter the world of entrepreneurship through specialized training programs, workshops, and institutional partnerships that develop their skills and enable them to transform ideas into productive projects. She added that organizing the Global Entrepreneurship Week activities is part of the Division’s plan to build a comprehensive support system that includes qualification, guidance, and continuous follow-up of student initiatives. The day’s program began with a speech by Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, who stressed the importance of integrating academic and administrative efforts to support the entrepreneurship ecosystem. He explained that updating legislation, facilitating access to funding sources, and strengthening digital media tools are fundamental pillars for ensuring the sustainability of entrepreneurial projects, in alignment with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s directions toward supporting the knowledge economy. The program included an interactive workshop entitled “Digital Media Entrepreneurship: From Idea to Audience,” presented by Professor Dr. Akram Faraj Abdul Hussein, Head of the Media Department at the College of Arts and Humanities, with the participation of Professor Dr. Kamil Al-Qayyim from Al-Alamein Institute for Postgraduate Studies. The workshop focused on strategies for marketing projects through digital platforms, producing impactful content, and building a digital identity capable of effectively delivering the project’s message to the target audience. In the legislative environment track, a specialized seminar titled “Supporting New Legislation for Iraqi Startups” was held, with the participation of a group of specialists. The seminar addressed modern government policies, mechanisms to facilitate company registration procedures, and ways to overcome the legal and regulatory challenges facing entrepreneurs, while emphasizing the importance of cooperation between academic institutions and official bodies to strengthen the investment environment. Additionally, the College of Administrative Sciences organized a workshop titled “How to Fund Your Idea?” under the supervision of the Dean, Professor Dr. Haider Al-Dulaimi, with the participation of several faculty members. The workshop reviewed available funding mechanisms, the requirements of banks and supporting institutions, and methods for preparing comprehensive feasibility studies to enhance funding opportunities and ensure the financial sustainability of projects. The fourth day also featured an exhibition showcasing student innovations and projects, reflecting the creativity and practical skills of the University’s students and highlighting the role of the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Division in nurturing young talents and supporting their projects from the idea stage through implementation The day concluded with an emphasis that the integration of supportive legislation, activation of funding tools, and effective utilization of digital media—alongside the continuous qualification, guidance, and follow-up efforts of the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Division—constitute a comprehensive system for building a sustainable entrepreneurial environment that serves society and strengthens the national economy, amid wide appreciation for the organization and positive engagement of participants and attendees
