Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, and in cooperation with the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division at the university, the College of Science organized a scientific workshop entitled “Transforming Scientific Research into a Startup Business in the Fields of Applied Sciences.” This event was held in celebration of the National Entrepreneurship Day The workshop was organized as part of the college’s efforts to support extracurricular activities and promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and university staff. It also aimed to encourage participants to utilize research outcomes and transform them into entrepreneurial projects that contribute to community service and support the economy The lecture of the workshop was delivered by Professor Dr. Dirgham Ali Abbas Al-Sultani, who addressed several important practical topics, including mechanisms for transforming a research idea into a marketable product or service, strategies for protecting intellectual property, business models and market planning, as well as methods for securing initial funding and building effective teams for startup projects. The lecture also presented applied examples in the fields of applied sciences and provided practical guidance for researchers interested in transforming their research projects into successful startups The workshop was attended by the Assistant Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Latif Hussein, and the Head of the Student Activities Division at the College, Lecturer Dr. Alaa Hadi Shaker, along with a number of faculty members and staff of the College of Science. The event included interactive discussion sessions and short practical workshops focusing on developing preliminary business plans, evaluating market opportunities, and exploring ways to communicate with business incubators and accelerators At the conclusion of the workshop, the organizers praised the level of engagement and participation from attendees, emphasizing that such initiatives contribute to fostering a culture of innovation and teamwork within the university environment.
