As part of the activities of the Fourth International Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week, and ضمن the third day’s program, the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Energy Research at Al-Mustaqbal University, in collaboration with the Pioneers of Biomedical Engineering Association – Baghdad, organized a specialized workshop in the field of biomedical engineering. The workshop was held in the presence of the Director of the Center, Dr. Salwan Obaid Waheed, and the Head of the Department of Medical Devices Engineering, Dr. Bayan Mahdi Sabbar, along with a distinguished group of students and individuals interested in medical and engineering fields. The workshop aimed to develop students’ skills and enhance their practical knowledge, contributing to preparing qualified graduates capable of meeting the demands of the healthcare sector. The session was delivered by Eng. Issam Ahmed, who highlighted the vital role of biomedical engineers within healthcare institutions, including operating, maintaining, and calibrating medical devices, as well as contributing to their development and design in line with the latest technological advancements. The workshop also included practical demonstrations of various medical devices, emphasizing the engineer’s role in improving performance efficiency and ensuring safety within hospital environments. In addition, it addressed ways to enhance both scientific and practical skills required for successful integration into the job market. The workshop witnessed active engagement from participants, effectively bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications, and highlighting the importance of biomedical engineering in supporting the healthcare sector. This workshop is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the center during Sustainability Week, aiming to promote knowledge sharing and strengthen collaboration with academic and professional institutions.
